Here's my attempt at the teacher/college professor look. It’s fitting since these photos were snapped a few blocks away from my old high school, Franklin Learning Center. Fairmount Park is an extraordinarily scenic part of Philadelphia. It's filled with beautiful tree lined streets and colorfully manicured homes. M. Night Shyamalan filmed the exteriors for The Sixth Sense in the neighborhood. It’s clear why he chose it.
In order to complement my background I wore my camelhair coat. It was a last second buy around the end of last winter. The vest was a “mistake” purchase I made online. I thought it was black and tan, but it’s actually tan and blue herringbone. Eh, I thought about taking it back, but it turns out I love clothes too much and made it work.
Early last year Mr. Michael Thomas interviewed me for his series, A Life Well Dressed. The awesome tie you see is a thank you gift for participating. The lapel pin was also a gift from my lady, who grabbed it from Fine and Dandy's brick-and-mortar shop a few years ago. It’s actually a Two Guys Bow Tie creation. Take a look at both shops.
I saved my newest collection for last. Right now, it’s my favorite. I purchased my first pocket watch a few weeks ago. I picked it up while covering the Kwanzaa celebration at The Museum of Natural History. It's made by EcoWrist and the company is based in Brooklyn. It comes with a carrying case, which is stylish but a bit too bulky. I’ll admit, I don’t have much experience with pocket watches. You can probably tell because I accidentally clipped it to my belt loop instead of my vest button. Rookie mistake. Typically, when you dive into new territory you want to be conservative, but I couldn’t resist. I think it’ll be the first of new collection. Anybody have any suggestions of dope pocket watch brands?
